THIS STUDY FOR DYSLIPIDEMIA
A phase III study of an investigational medicine on major adverse CV events in patients with a history of ASCVD (atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease) events or at a high risk for a first event

Study Location(s): Bowling Green, KY; Owensboro, KY; & Evansville, IN
Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, otherwise known as ASCVD, is caused by plaque buildup in arterial walls. Currently, ASCVD- related conditions remain the leading cause of morbidity and mortality globally (source: American Heart Association). The exact cause ASCVD is not known. It may start with damage or injury to the inner layer of an artery. Over time, fats, cholesterol, and other substances collect on and in the walls of the heart arteries. This buildup is called plaque. Plaque can cause the arteries to narrow and block blood flow. The plaque also can burst, leading to a blood clot (source: Mayo Clinic). The purpose of this study is to assess the effect of an investigational medicine compared with placebo in reducing the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events in patients with established ASCVD or at a higher risk for a first ASCVD event.
There is no cost to participate. Volunteers receive no cost investigational medicine and no cost health exams. No insurance needed. Time and travel compensation is TBD.
